Exams over. Vacations started a week ago and I am leaving for Bangalore only now. This week has been aggravating, to say the least.
My modem blew up during the exams. And I didn't even bother replacing it then. Exams are supposed to be important after all... Anyways, I got the replacement just today and it works, fortunately. All these days, I had borrowed my friend's modem to get online. He had sold his computer before the exams and had no use for his modem anyway.
Right. I am leaving for Bangalore in less than half an hour and I am almost packed. This is a first...
I wont be able to be online much when I am there. I will to be back before Feb 6th, when the last semester starts.

It has been a long time since I properly updated my LJ. So, here I am.
This semester has been a bitch, as far as college is concerned. Currently, my exams are going on, which are being an even bigger pain. I shouldn't even be here...but some things just can't wait.
The CAT results came out two days ago, and my brother scored a percentile of 99.35. A percentile of 99.35 of the 150,000 odd people who took the test! He's got calls from all IIMs except IIM-A. And to think, he studied a grand total of TWO days for the test! He only sat for the test because Dad wanted him to, and he didn't put serious thought into studying for it. Is that awesome or what!? My brother is a genius! I know it sounds like I am exaggerating, but I know my brother and I know how much he is capable of, and how he complained to me about Dad putting pressure on him to sit for the test. He really, really didn't want to study further(he's working in Ingersoll-Rand, Design Engineer), but this changes everything. I mean, people are ready to give an arm and a leg to get into IIMs, and here he is, getting into them without breaking a sweat. If he has any thoughts about not going, I will beat him black and blue! :-D
For the uninitiated, IIMs are among the elite B-schools in the world. The CAT(Common Aptitude Test), the entrance exam for IIMs, is supposedly the toughest exam in the world. Even tougher than gaining entrance into Harvard and the like. And scoring that much in CAT is ...unimaginable in my books.
I don't think I have been this happy or proud in a long time. Sometimes, it feels good to be the elder sibling.:-D
Well, that's all for now. I hope to update regularly once my exams finish. Until then...

It's been sometime since I updated the journal. Thought I would do the deed at least now.
I got to Belgaum on the 30th of August. The bus ride was a real pain, literally. My back and knees were were throbbing by the time we arrived. And added to that, I had to lug my comp home. This is not at all what I imagined coming back to college would be!!
And also, unsurprisingly, there was no current supply the whole day. *rolls eyes* The next days were not so fun either. I sit for five minutes in front of my computer, and BLINK! Power out!! Incessant rains have put a dampener on all the plans I had for start of college. Telephone lines were dead too. Two days of total cut off from friends and family alike. Life is somewhat normal now. I'm just waiting get the internet connected to my computer. And then, WOOHOO!! Baby!
Finally, college started on the First of September. And no classes were held. Go figure. Not that I'm complaining, mind you. My attendance at the small tea stall near the college is more than the classes I attend.:D
The second day, I got up at 12:30 p.m., while the college is up and running from 8 a.m. I got to the college only to see the class streaming out from the last class of the day. Oh well... Back to the tea stall then. Tomorrow will have a better start perhaps.:D
The only bright spot of this week was today's cricket match: New Zealand - 278/9; India - 279/4 in 47.3 overs. Made my day!:D Coming in from the indifferent start at the beginning of the series (44/8 I ask you! Mental, these guys are!!), this is a highly commendable performance.
You guys must have much patience to read through so much gripe!!:D

Had gone to the bike dealers today. And guess what? We are buying a new bike. Will be delivered tomorrow!! A brand new Bajaj Pulsar. It will be a wrench giving my old, faithful scooter away. But it had to be done. I reckon it's repair costs far exceeded it's market value.

Hi there!
A bit about me I guess. I'm Sunil,24,M, from Bangalore, India. I'm an engineering student trying to complete Electronics and Communication Engg. with very limited success so far.:-(
This is the first time I have posted on the journal and I definitely am in new waters here. I dont know what to do. I'm hoping to stumble upon the features as I go along since I abhor reading how to's.
I am heavily into Harry Potter and the fanfiction associated with the series. My favourites are the H/G and L/J stories.
